[testimonial author=’Dylan T., Boise Id.’]Training with Chris has had a very powerful impact on my life. I worked for several years as a personal trainer myself and I know from my own experience the type of positive change you can instill in a person. Chris has done that for me in a huge way. As someone who can be very self critical, I have a hard time seeing the changes that I make. Chris puts things in the right perspective for me. There is no rhetoric, personal opinion or pseudo science. Chris is the most knowledgeable and studied trainer I have had the fortune of working with. I have reached and exceeded every goal we have set and I find myself striving for more after each session. Thank you very much Chris. My training sessions with you mean more then you will ever know.*

[testimonial author=’Linda F., Boise Id.’]If you want personalized training from someone who obviously loves what he is doing and who really enjoys seeing his clients improve, go and see Chris at Volition Fitness! I first went to train with Chris after getting injured a few times from running and being told from doctors/physical therapists that weak non-running muscles were probably contributing to my injuries. I figured that I would work with Chris for 3 months or so, get strong, and then go back to running. A month into my training though, I knew I couldn’t give it up. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would! Every day is different and challenging. My workouts are truly personalized for me – to focus on my weak areas, my strong areas, and my goals. If I can’t do something Chris has me try to do, he just smiles confidently and says, “We’ll get you there!” If something doesn’t feel right or hurts, Chris has the knowledge to assess what is going on and how to best address it, whether it is to strengthen that muscle, strengthen supporting muscles, or rest that muscle for a bit. He will alter my work out on the fly if needed. Give Chris a call and see what he can do for you! It was one of the best phone calls I have made!*
[testimonial author=’Danielle C., Nampa Id. ‘]Chris is as far from a cookie cutter trainer as you can find. It isn’t that he makes a plan for each client; he personalizes it on a daily basis to ensure we get the best workout for where we are that day. Chris helped me fix form problems caused by injuries that doctors told me would leave me with a permanent limp. Thanks to Chris I have been able to compete in two bodybuilding competitions, a goal that I thought I would never reach. Our workouts are exciting and challenging. He constantly encourages me to do better, but he has never pushed me beyond my capabilities or caused an injury. I look forward to continuing to work with Chris as I prepare for more competitions.*

[testimonial author=’Melissa A., Nampa Id. ‘]After almost a year long venture of changing my lifestyle I achieved my original fitness goal. In my initial goal I focused on weight loss and now I wanted to add mass to my physique. Despite all my efforts that were clearly visible by others I was showing no progress. My now team mate and close friend approached me and asked if I was training for something and had suggested I try body building. I had given it thought before, but never much else. She also suggested her trainer. I knew I lacked consistency and although my diet was better than it ever had been, it still needed work. My biggest issue was that I had no attainable objective, no goal.
In May 2013, about a month later I made the call and to date it has been one of the best calls I’ve ever made. One of my biggest concerns was that it would be a financial stretch, but I also knew that it would be a regret I couldn’t live with. One of the first things I noticed during our first meeting was that Chris is very passionate about his work and his clients, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. We discussed a training plan that catered to my individual needs as well as upcoming competitions. It was then that it all fell together my new fitness goal and my new trainer to help guide my way. Chris has taken me to levels I have never even imagined & my success was his up most priority. His knowledge tailored the perfect regimen of weight training, cardio, and diet to obtain my optimal results. Not one training plan is the same for two people, as we, his clients all have different goals.
My first figure competition was October 5th, 2013. I placed 4th in figure novice out of 7 other unbelievably fit women. Although my placing 4th may read like a let down it was by no mistake I didn’t come in last. Chris was there to guide me in the emotional roller coaster competing can be. His pride in my 4th place medal showed me it’s an accomplishment that deserves 1st. I felt like a champion and he started me on this journey that first time we sat down to discuss our goals. There were many challenging workouts with Chris but they came with great reward. I will continue to train with Chris because his passion and knowledge bring out the best in me. Quite frankly he is amazing at what he does. I only wish I could find a way to express how grateful I am for all he has done.*

[testimonial author=’Mandie K., Boise Id.’]I went to Volition to lose weight and get in shape, Chris sat down with me and came up with mutual goals and a nutrition program. When we met that goal we set a new one. I lost the weight, got back on the softball field and just competed in my first powerlifting competition! None of this would have been possible without Chris!*
[testimonial author=’Michael & Jill C., Boise Id.’]After a long sedentary winter, my husband and I decided to seek out a personal trainer to give us a few tips and workout advice for getting back into shape. That search lead us to Chris Huffman at Volition Fitness. It was the best decision we have made in terms of our long time physical health. We have learned how nutrition and exercise work hand in hand and we have used those tools to make the lifestyle change we were looking for.
After training with Chris for some time, he invited us to attend the local natural bodybuilding competition. While I could never imagine competing myself, I was enthralled with the competition atmosphere. In January 2014, I decided that it would be my goal that year to train and compete in a bodybuilding competition as a figure competitor. Thanks to Chris’ knowledge and coaching skills, I took second place my first time on stage. I also placed second in my second competition 6 months later.
I love knowing that my goals are my own. Whatever it is that I want to achieve, I know that Chris will help me get there efficiently. Most importantly, I know that he will help reach my goals safely. I never have to worry about being pressured into a training program or forced into diet regimen. Any concerns are always addressed with sincerity and professionalism at Volition Fitness. These are just a few of the many reasons I choose to make Volition Fitness my gym home.*

Faith P., January to March, 2014
[testimonial author=’Faith P., Boise Id.’]Chris Huffman is an exceptionally great trainer. I was literally on the brink of being obese and Chris helped me to understand what I needed to do in order to change my lifestyle so that I could be a happier healthier version of myself. Thanks to Chris, I am eating healthier, I enjoy going to the gym and am loving the way my body looks. I enjoyed his calm, easy manner in which he taught how to maximize my workout without injuring or killing myself. Chris is honest and does not try to sell you stuff. He loves what he does and takes pride in helping ordinary people like me take those crucial first steps to being healthy without the use of drugs, supplements, and starving to look and feel better. Just be willing to do your part and He will help you realize your goals.*
[testimonial author=’Mike M., Caldwell Id.’]To get a glimpse into a person’s intelligence and understanding of a subject, their overall passion for it should show through and, for Chris Huffman, his passion for exercise and fitness cannot be questioned. I have worked as a personal trainer and have been involved in intense exercise most of life but, recently, I had a hard time designing an optimal conditioning program for myself. I am very grateful because what I thought to be a casual conversation about training with a friend at the gym turned into one of the best experiences that I have had on a conditioning program. Chris helped me to fill in all of the blanks that I had missed all together in my own program design and I have since had outstanding physical training adaptations. There is no doubt in my mind that working with Chris has been a great decision and I would recommend Chris to anyone who is serious about achieving their fitness goals.*
- 1st place, 2014 NGA NW Fall Men’s Physique A (2nd overall)
[testimonial author=’Karyn R., Boise Id.’]Five stars is not high enough to rate Chris at Volition Fitness!! He has worked with my 17 year old son for the last several months helping him train and condition for the military. The transformation has been amazing and it goes well beyond just the physical body. Physically, my son has been transformed into a lean, mean, fighting machine and is now capable of passing the most rigorous physical challenges. But, the greatest transformation has been psychological. Everyone has noticed the increased confidence in how he carries himself, his perception of himself, and an overall improvement in his attitude. I NEVER have to remind my son about his training sessions. Not only does he look forward to them each week, but he gives them high priority and schedules other things in his life around them. This level of commitment is only possible because of the way that Chris interacts with him, supports and encourages him, but best of all, positively challenges him. Chris has brought out the “can-do” attitude in my son, and there is simply no price tag you can put on that.*

[testimonial author=’Kelly A., Boise Id.’]Brianne is amazing! The personalized training and support she gives goes beyond the hours I spend with her. Thanks for a life-changing experience.*
[testimonial author=’Maegan S., Boise Id.’]What can I say? Brianne has changed my life in ways I never thought possible!
I’m in my early 30s, have three young children, and never do anything for myself. About 18 years ago I suffered a back injury that went untreated for the first 10 years. My pain levels have been unbearable at times. At best, the pain simply interfered with my ability to be fully present in my kids’ lives. At worst, I was taking max doses of OTC pain relievers and stuck in bed. I couldn’t give my children baths or play on the floor with them because the pain was too intense. There were no fun walks or hikes, no running around the park. I couldn’t do dishes or laundry without excruciating pain. I was missing out on my children’s lives. I had to plan activities around my husband’s days off so I would be able to recover from simple outings. Instead of having memories of me playing with them and rolling around on the floor with them, my kids were accruing memories which only consisted of their mother watching and commenting, but not being actively involved, memories of me not feeling well and needing to go lay down, and memories of me being very cranky because my back hurt so badly. I had to do something. I had to fix this for myself and for my precious babies.
My hips were especially bad and I knew that if I didn’t get this pain under control, I would be facing a hip replacement surgery within the next 15-20 years. But I wasn’t sure how to get a handle on this pain. Then one day I had an “aha moment” and it occurred to me that I need to strengthen my core muscles. After having three babies in five years, my core was pretty shot! I also knew that I couldn’t do this on my own because I would undoubtedly hurt myself in the process. So I began looking for a trainer and I read many reviews of trainers and gyms when I finally found Volition. I read through their entire website and immediately contacted them. I began working with Brianne less than a week later and after the first session, my pain was gone for several days. After my second session, my pain stayed away until the following session. And now the pain is a distant memory.
There have been days where I went in and had a tightness in my back or tenderness near a joint and Brianne has been able to modify our session, on the fly, to not only accommodate the issue but to also rectify it. One day in particular, I had very bad neck pain that was causing headaches and migraines. By the end of that session, the pain was gone and I felt like all of the tightness in my back and neck was released. And sure enough, the next morning, I realized something profound: my left shoulder, which has been noticeably higher than my right shoulder for at least 15 years, was suddenly at the same level as my right shoulder! For the first time in too many years to recall, my shoulders were even! I nearly jumped up and down!
I love the personalized care that goes into my sessions. There is no “one size fits all” plan at Volition. It’s also not tedious work as the sessions are ever-evolving. My favorite thing about this gym is that there is NO YELLING! We’ve all been to gyms where there are trainers screaming at their clients to do more, work harder, or even belittling the client. I suppose that sort of approach might work for some but that would be detrimental to me.
The atmosphere that Brianne and Chris have created is peaceful, supportive, upbeat, and encouraging. It’s never too loud or overwhelmingly busy like you see at other gyms. Even when Chris is working with a client while I’m with Brianne, it still often feels like it’s just me and Brianne. There’s also a playful banter between Brianne and Chris that makes the gym that much more inviting and non-intimidating.
There’s also none of that “no pain, no gain” talk at Volition. As a busy mom, I can’t have days where I’m out of commission because of muscle soreness. But with Brianne at the helm, I am rarely sore the next day and when I am, it’s very mild. Even without the soreness that many of us believe to be the sign of improvement, my progress has been astounding.
I am stronger. I am healthier. I have no more chronic pain. I no longer worry about surgeries looming in the future. I used to take up to eight ibuprofen a day and now I take maybe one a week and that’s typically for a headache.
But best of all, I can play with my kids and be an active participant in their lives. Now, they won’t just remember me sitting on the sidelines watching them. Instead they will remember me being right there in the thick-of-it. And I’ve learned that I need to put the mother of my children first every now and then.
So put yourself first and call Volition!*
[testimonial author=’Gwen T., Boise Id.’]Brianne has been understanding, dedicated and is very knowledgeable. I have health conditions that affect me on a daily basis, chronic migraines, chronic pain and fibromyalgia/cfs. Part of combating the negative ramifications and impact in my life, from these issues, is having the healthiest lifestyle possible. Brianne’s training has become an integral part of that process. She is able to adapt my workouts on days I’m experiencing weakness or soreness. I’m grateful to Brianne in helping me towards living a better quality of life and hopefully to strengthen my body to be able to live a more physical and productive life. We both know this will take time and I’m confident that, Brianne, as my Personal Trainer will be me during this process. Much thanks to Brianne & Chris at Volition Fitness!
Side note, I’ve had the opportunity to see Chris train others at various levels of fitness with different needs, and I’ve been impressed and would fully recommend both Brianne and Chris for whatever your personal needs and goals may be!
The environment at Volition Fitness is another great aspect as working in a studio with only two Trainers and two clients is much more conducive to personal attention than a loud, large gym full people.
Good Luck on your personal fitness goals and without a doubt, Volition Fitness is a premier Personal Training studio in Boise!
(Another added caveat is their rates being some of the best in Boise as well!)*
[testimonial author=’Audra B., Boise Id.’]Brianne Huffman is an amazing personal trainer. Over the last few years, I’ve been trying to change my life. I was making progress but it was slow and I want getting the results I wanted. So I started working with Brianne. The results were amazing. The support she’s given me has been so great. She’s always there to answer my questions and put me on the right path. When I started with Brianne, I was a size 20. It’s been several months and I’m in a 13/14. But that’s not even the best part. I feel stronger than I have ever felt in my whole life. I may not be the skinniest I’ve ever been, but I’m getting there – one day at a time. With Brianne’s continued support and training, I know I’ll get there! Thank you, Brianne! You’re the greatest!*
